Being continually confronted with the feelings of employees is not only time consuming, but it also drains the energy of many CEO’s and managers. Irritation, dissatisfaction, lack of motivation, tension, disagreements, rivalry and political power games amidst employees have already lead to overstrain and burnout among many corporate executives. Some managers are finding the solution by escaping or avoiding conflicts of feelings, or they try to suppress them as soon as possible in accordance with the total outdated model: “Emotions don’t belong in the corporate world”. PMA is specialized in offering highly effective solutions for these interpersonal conflicts.

The two aspects of a company
A CEO of a company continuously faces the daily pressure of market developments, budgets, targets, investments, taxes, production, personnel and many other concerns. All these worries and responsibilities can be divided into two main categories:

    • Technical aspects

    • Human aspects

The most energy consuming of these two are the human aspects. The Management Support Plan is especially developed to remove the pressing burden of daily interpersonal tensions, frictions and complications from the CEO’s shoulders. This results in less stress, more time, and better overview. This will ensue more possibilities for the CEO, and time and energy will arise to focus on new developments and challenges in a well-balanced way. What exactly do we mean by “technical” and “human” aspects?

Technical aspects
Technical aspects include things like: finances, market developments, targets, machinery, vehicles, computers, office supplies, production, education, specific skills, reports, assignment of duties, time schedules and the management and organization of all these matters. All these things are essential but they can be covered by education and experience.

Human aspects
With human aspects everything is about interpersonal communication and individual patterns of reaction, driven by feelings. Education and experience does not determine the intenseness of feelings. Nonetheless, feelings form the source of power in an effective and successful functioning company. When involvement and motivation among employees reaches the optimal level, performance will rise to a maximum! Whether an employee feels comfortable in a company highly depends on how he/she feels about the quality of the interactions with colleagues and management.

Freedom from unnecessary conflicts
Wants and needs determine the market developments. Both are feelings! Freedom, motivation, contentment, drive, solidarity, responsibility and a sense of duty are also feelings. However, these highly desired drives are often poisoned by negative emotions. PMA is highly specialized in solving these negative inhibiting feelings and opens the way to excellent performance. PMA not only prevents interpersonal conflicts, it also solves long-term and short-term communication issues and creates a healthy team spirit. How does the Management Support Plan work?

The PMA Inventory
The first step in this process involves all the present employees to fill out an easy multiple-choice questionnaire, called The PMA Inventory. This will quickly provide an objective overview of the situation within the company. It will immediately show where the major jamming stations and frictions are located requiring the first attention.

The first phase of the Management Support Plan
A PMA Business Coach will have a twenty-minute interview with each employee in reference to his/her answers on the The PMA Inventory. This will not only clarify whether the list has been filled out truthfully, but mainly whether the employee is willing to cooperate and communicate in an open and honest way. It will reveal their intention to grow and develop an extraordinary team spirit. The advanced technique of questions enables the PMA Coach to help the employee gain insight and understanding of his/her subconsciously generated motivations and resistances. The PMA Coach will then create a review, based on his findings, that clearly indicates the bottlenecks within the company. In deliberation with the CEO, a selection will be made of those who need the first attention, based on their key positions in the structure of the company and their willingness of cooperation.

The goal of the PMA Coach
The PMA Coach will bring about the most optimal communication within the company by making lingering conflicts and ingrained unwanted patterns open to discussion and solving them. This will already take a huge load off the shoulders of the CEO. Furthermore, it will redirect many future human conflict and communication trouble from the CEO’s desk and onto the coach’s. The coach then will guide individual employees in solving their attending barriers, enabling an open and uncomplicated collaboration and communication between colleagues. The relaxed working atmosphere will yield a driving team spirit, effective cooperation, and more production. A well-known wisdom says: “People won’t change because of discipline, manipulation, force, begging, or punishment. People grow because of acceptance, respect, and appreciation”. PMA’s most effective step in this process is open and honest communication.

The second phase of the Management Support Plan
In deliberation with the CEO, a few employees will be selected to be trained as support persons within the company. A four-day program will train these support persons to apply the PMA communication techniques effectively in their workplace, preventing conflicts and maintaining an open interpersonal communication. The path to the external PMA Coach will also stay open for those who want to discuss more profound personal issues.

Growth without fear
PMA is primarily directed to generate short, as well as long-term, progress and structural change. It is a well-known human trait to feel suspicion and resistance towards any kind of change, especially when it concerns deeply embedded patterns. However, fear, suspicion and resistance are not the ingredients of building a powerful team. Motivation and team spirit arise out of openness, honesty and an unhindered communication. Only then will the wants and needs of each employee become clear and what really is needed to reach the maximum level of their true potential. This won’t always be easy, especially when a large emotional inheritance exists inside a company.

That’s why the special skills of an experienced PMA Business Coach are needed to get through to the real convictions and drives of the employees. Their convictions are based on their feelings, which determine their decisions, actions, and behavior. Statistics show that happy and content employees have less absenteeism and show more concern and a more intense dedication to their job, which effortlessly leads to a duplication of their production.
